How to add a LinkedIn Profile badge into your blog

Linked in is a social networking platform for professionals. LinkedIn profile can be used as your resume and can use it for various purposes like; to apply for jobs, find similar people to your profile, connect with old colleagues etc…You can add ‘LinkedIn profile’ in blogs to increase the authority of your blogs. Here are the simple steps to add a ‘LinkedIn Profile badge’ to your blogger.

  • ‘Login’ to your ‘LinkedIn profile’ account.
  • Before creating the LinkedIn Profile badge; make sure your Linked in profile is optimized. Set your privacy settings and control what others can see on your public profile.
  • Click on ‘view profile’ under the profile icon on the top right of the page.

  • Click on ‘Edit your public profile’ on the right menu.

  • You will reach in the Public profile page, where you can edit and customise your public profile.
  • Check the URL under the heading ‘Edit public profile URL’. It will be like “www.linkedin.com/in….. “. Click on the pen (edit icon) right to the link URL to edit the link and customize it with your name.

  • Now, find the ‘Your public profile badge’ section at the bottom right of the page. There you can see some small text with link ‘Create a public profile badge’. Click on that.

  • You are now redirected to the ‘Public profile badge builder’ page.
  • You can see different badges on this page with ‘codes’ near to it to copy and with a ‘Copy the code’ button.

  • Copy the one you liked and come to blogger.
  • Click on the ‘Layout’ menu in the Blogger.
  • Find the “Add a Gadget” Link or Button.
  • Clicking on the “Add a Gadget” will open a popup for you to select the type.

  • Click on the “HTML/Java Script”.
  • This will open another popup window with two text boxes ‘Title’ & ‘Content’.
  • Paste the copied code from LinkedIn, to the ‘content’ text box and ‘Save’.

  • Refresh the Blogger page to view the ‘LinkedIn profile badge’ on your page.
